I think kerala is gods own country..means he has a lot of work to do to revive this so called country i guess.I am an IT professional.I have to travel a lot personally as well as officially.I have covered all most all of the South , western sides of India and some parts in east to. I am not saying that i have enough experience or knowledge to say all these things. But since blog is a place where i can picture as myself i have some doubts in my mind.
Recently i visited pune the emerging city of Indian heights."WOW WHAT A PLACE " ...this would be the first reaction of a normal malayali who is going there for the first time.Yeah am also one among them , but with minimal change that am going there for the second time. But still i gasp when i see the growth. The latest example is the subway which is been built from pimpiri to the next station akrudi ( sorry if the place names are different, am not so used to that, but i kno that its a fair amount of distance) and just compare that with the building a piece of road and other infrastructure in this so called GODS OWN COUNTRY...god you are the only one to save this place. And the sub way was not present there 8 months back and now when am there for the second time i was riding bike through the way.The Pune roads are getting a face lift. Even though the pace is slow, the road widening is producing results. The city fathers say that once the work is complete, the drive from Nigdi to Shivajinagar can be covered in 15 minutes.
I remember reading in the papers that the Pimpri Chinchwad township is the best township in Maharashtra , and in india i would say.And this is the most revenue generating township. All the World's big IT industry is rushing there.
Yet another one CHENNAI city.I think there are more number of flyover's then the total number of road in ernakulam city.We kerala gov taken so much initiatives for the IT parks all over kerala.yeah it is appreciated.Smart city is yet another hype. But have any one thought how to reach from ernakulam to kakanad.IT profession is i think its one of the sensitive job in which TIME is a big factor , and just imagine a crucial server is down and the admin takes ages to sail across the traffic. The roads are pathetic , its virtually we have to circuss to ride a vehicle.Forget about cars, and big vehicles. It should take hardly 10 20 minutes to reach from ravipuram to padma , but it takes ages in peak hours now. And near the infopark there is no single day where a traffic jam is not there. If a truck got stuck up, that's it the whole thing is upside down. there is place for hardly a Lorry ,and think of the people riding their own vehicle to reach places in no time.Remember that Bangalore(bengalooru) is getting suffocated and sturated with IT only because of the traffic conditions there , but they are solving that by creating new roads and acquiring new lands.
Here the tax is been levied , but no roads are repaired,But if one smokes there goes a fine.Remember Cigarettes and Liquor is the main source of income. this doesn't mean that am promoting all this. But before levying them a fine please think of the road conditions and other infrastructure this government issue to people , taking cores in form of revenue as tax and other forms.
I am not a tactician or a city planner, but as one of the men i admire is Mr.Santhosh George kulangara who has created a wonderful piece of TV show called sancharam.According to him nothing new have to be invented to get rid of all this.Just visit places and learn things how its implemented.
But our ministers also travel provided If one of the ministers is having a bad temperature he leaves for London or US for treatment , taking hell a lot of money from public. We have harthals for the death of sadham Hussain and silly reasons like that , yeah i agree some do have emotions but it shouldn't be the way in which the problem is created for public.
When some people like Mr.mohamed hanish the ex collector of ernakulam (now director of education ) .he has done a marvelous job but think where is he now.I am not giving less priority to education but he shouldn't be the person there with so much ability and agile, versatile he should be the administer others need to learn lessons from. And he is also stuck up there where he and MR.M A Baby minister for education. When they started implementing policies i don't know from where some create silly problems.Alas there are hell a lot problems and i don't think this time wouldn't be enough for discussing all that. But ray of hope is still there.
As one of the youths over here who wish to stay back in kerala and work here , these are all the facilities which attract a youth like me and no wonder they pull so much of revenue and income out of the youth from all over India.Pune, mumbai, chennai banglore these are the cities where most of the youth like to spend time. Those people who think of career more then anything pardon me kerala sucks. And one more word have any one thought this same set of malayalee people are the most hard workers outside of kerala. We must think of this situation where we are reluctant to do the same thing here in kerala. But what ever i love to be here and i would like to be heard , and hear good things about kerala.
I dont think any thing will change in a flick. But there is still time to retain the youth here. The administration have to be vigilent and agile , not just spending time in dirty politics and there party thing.I think all the party, politics and all other bodies should give preference for public serving than their **** politics. One day will come.
